TVL Capital Appoints former Form3 Co-Founder Steve Cook as CTO after $5M Funding Round
Steve Cook joins the institutional digital asset firm’s management team to spearhead its technology expansion and to accelerate the deployment of “Chain-Traded Products”
TVL Capital, an institutional digital asset infrastructure firm, today announced the appointment of Steve Cook as CTO, effective immediately.
Cook joins the firm following TVL Capital’s US$5 million capital raise announced last week, led by San Francisco-based venture capital firm Framework Ventures and supported by Amsterdam-based global liquidity provider Flow Traders, as well as multiple other strategic investors. In his new role, Cook will lead the expansion of TVL Capital’s core engineering capabilities and accelerate the rollout of its flagship Chain-Traded Products (CTPs). CTPs are compliant, composable structured derivatives that are issued, settled, and managed directly on blockchain rails.
Bolstering an Elite Leadership Lineup
Cook brings an elite technical background to TVL Capital, drawing from an impressive tenure at Form3, where he specialised in architecting secure, high-throughput real-time payment infrastructure and distributed network environments.
His appointment rounds out an executive line-up of top-tier traditional finance and digital asset co-founders, including:
- Andrew Peel — CEO, former Head of Digital Asset Markets at Morgan Stanley
- Penny Tunbridge — COO, former Global COO of the Group Integration Office at UBS
- Lars Hoffmann — CSO, former Senior Research Director at The Block
Executive Commentary
“The global financial system is in the early stages of a transformational migration onchain. Re-engineering a US$2.5 trillion global retail structured products market requires flawless technical execution. Steve’s deep experience in scaling enterprise-grade systems at Form3 aligns perfectly with our vision. We are thrilled to welcome him aboard as we build out the next generation of financial operating infrastructure.”
Andrew Peel, Founder & CEO, TVL Capital
“TVL Capital is uniquely positioned at the intersection of institutional finance and blockchain technology. The opportunity to lead its engineering team as we scale CTPs into a compliant, institutional-grade standard is incredibly exciting. I look forward to delivering robust smart contract frameworks for global asset issuers.”
Steve Cook, CTO, TVL Capital
“Securing a CTO of Steve’s calibre is a powerful endorsement of the TVL team and their core thesis. More broadly, seeing technical talent of this magnitude transition into the sector underscores a major convergence of TradFi and DeFi. Top-tier CTOs increasingly recognise that the future of institutional infrastructure is being built onchain, and TVL Capital is uniquely positioned to lead that shift.”
